Art enriches lives and so has a fundamental place in the curriculum for our young people. Our aim is to inspire students to explore the creative process by having access to an exciting and stimulating programme of study that encompasses a wide range of Art activities. Our creative curriculum provides students with diverse opportunities to study current and past masters while learning core skills through a variety of media. We work hard to make sure that the processes of creating Visual Art is enjoyable and provides students with a strong sense of achievement as well as encouraging all to reach the highest possible standards.
The Visual Arts team consists of three highly experienced Art and Design teachers with specialisms that include drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, ceramics and photography. We teach in three open plan art studios on the top floor of our building.
Excellent relationships exist between the staff, with collaborative planning, teaching, and assessment a key element of all exam courses.
