Year 7 Catch-Up Premium 2016-2017

 

The Year 7 Catch Up Premium allocates £500 to Noel-Baker Academy for every student who did not achieve a scaled score of 100 in reading and/or mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2. This funding is to provide effective and appropriate support and intervention in order to accelerate progress in literacy and numeracy.

 

For the academic year 2016-17, the Catch-up Premium for the academy is £24,000. 

 

Noel-Baker Academy intends to use this funding in a variety of ways:

 

·         Designated Catch up Premium leadership time for literacy and numeracy in order to enhance pupil outcomes.

·         Catch-up literacy intervention programme to deepen pupil understanding and enhance pupil outcomes.

·         Staffing for literacy-focused lessons to ensure a more advantageous teacher: pupil ratio.

·         Development of a bespoke curriculum for catch up literacy and numeracy pupils.

·         More effective deployment of learning mentors whose salary is supplemented by this funding stream.

·         Professional development on catch-up literacy and numeracy for Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors.

 

·         Literacy and numeracy professional development opportunities for all staff.

Closing the Gap 2016-2017

Noel Baker School intends to use 2016-2017 Catch-up Premium in a variety of ways including:

 

·         Designated Catch up Premium, Literacy and Numeracy Leads.

·         Development of bespoke curriculum for catch up literacy and numeracy pupils.

·         Deployment of Learning Mentors to support improved outcomes in literacy & numeracy.

·         CPD on catch-up literacy and numeracy for TAs and Cover Supervisors.

·         Literacy and Numeracy CPD for all staff. 

·         Use of GL Assessment package – rigorous and robust externally validated assessment on entry and through progress tests.
