Health and Social Care Overview

Key Stage 4

Health and Social Care is offered as a Cambridge National Level Qualification. We follow the OCR specification and this provides a broad introduction to understanding key elements of the health and social care environment. The subject provides students with an understanding of key issues and debates surrounding this area.

Students will learn about the rights of individuals and the essential values of care required when working in a health, social care or early years environment. Alongside exploring different types of communication and the importance of effective communication to help connect with individuals using care services. Students will develop their understanding of how the way in which they communicate  will impact on an individual’s care.

Apprenticeships within Health and Social Care, BTEC level 3 Health and Social Care, Teaching, Social Work, Law, Counselling, Community Education, Nursing, Care Work, Human Relations, Sociologist.
