Taking the step between primary and secondary school is a daunting prospective for parents and children alike. At Noel-Baker Academy we aim to make the process as smooth, easy and enjoyable as possible. Places for Noel-Baker Academy are allocated by the local authority and are confirmed on National Offer Day on the 2nd March 2020.  From this point we are working behind the scenes to gather as much information about your son or daughter from their primary school.  Should you have changed your address between the end of October 2019 and the 2nd March 2020 please let us know so that we can send all correspondences to the correct address.

Together with the information we gain from parents and students following the intake evening and information from the primary school staff we formulate the form groups to ensure that all students have the best chance at academic success going forward. Parents and students will be informed via a letter in early to mid-June with the form they are in.  This letter will also include an invitation to the intake evening towards the end of June. At this meeting you will have the chance to buy school uniform, meet your child’s future form tutor (where staff presence allows). After this date your son or daughter will attend Noel-Baker for an intake day and some students will also attend a sports day lead by Noel-Baker students.

Each year group at Noel-Baker has a pastoral lead attached to their year, should you wish to speak with year 7’s pastoral lead at any time during the school day they can be contacted via the academy reception.

If you have any further questions regarding transition please contact Mr Oliver, the member of staff with responsibility for transition.
