It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you from Noel-Baker Academy. I feel incredibly privileged as Headteacher to represent the incredible work undertaken by my staff in nurturing and developing the ambitions and interests of the children of our community. At Noel- Baker, I truly believe that every child is encouraged to be extraordinary.
My staff and I are dedicated to fostering an environment of excellence and high aspirations. Our mission is to ensure that each student is provided with the opportunities and support necessary to fulfil their individual potential. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of education, nurturing a culture of ambition, and instilling a lifelong love of learning.
Every member of our school community, is challenged daily to be the best version of ourselves – be that through our conduct, our endeavour or our personal resilience. Success rarely comes easily, and the most worthwhile achievements are earned through hard work and dedication. That is not to say that learning should not be fun, and we aim to encourage intellectual curiosity by delivering a rigorous and enriching curriculum. We set high expectations for all our students, encouraging them to strive for excellence in all that they do.
Our core values of Lead, Empower, Achieve, and Drive underpin our focus upon developing well rounded and successful young people. Through our curriculum and wide extra-curricular offer, we aim to build character, and I am proud to lead a school in which integrity, empathy and social justice are as highly prized as academic outcomes.
We recognise that the partnership between home and school is fundamental to the success of our students. We value open communication and collaboration with parents and guardians, and we are eager to work together to support your child’s educational journey. When trusted adults show genuine interest in a child’s ambitions, interests and achievements they attend more frequently, they progress more rapidly, and they thrive in school. Parental involvement and encouragement are vital in helping us achieve our shared goal of providing the very best educational experience for all our children.
If you want to find out more about what we do at Noel-Baker, I encourage you invest a little time to explore our website and see a small portion of the incredible achievements of our wonderful students. Hopefully, you will gleam a little of what makes our school so special.
Esse extraordinarium!
Paul Greenough – Headteacher

🌟 Good News Story! 🌟
We are thrilled to share some exciting news from NBA!
🎉 Zara M-T (Year 11) has been announced as one of the final four candidates for Derby Youth Mayor 2026. This outstanding achievement reflects her dedication, leadership skills, and passion for giving young people a voice across the city.
During last night’s penultimate selection round, Zara impressed the panel and earned her place in the final stage of the process. Her next step is to create a campaign video, which will be shared with all Derby schools in the third week of January. Students citywide will then be invited to cast their votes.
We are incredibly proud of Zara and all she has achieved so far.
⭐Well done, Zara — we look forward to cheering you on through the final stage!
