Year 9

Year 9 is one of the most important years for a pupil. Many are unsure of the pathway they wish to follow into Key Stage 4, which is why a significant amount of work is undertaken by tutors to ensure pupils are supported in making the right decisions for their future. Information and guidance is given to pupils to enable them to explore future pathways including further study, apprenticeships and employment opportunities. This enables them to make the right GCSE option choices for their preferred future pathway.

Pupils often feel personal, social and academic pressure in Year 9 but are provided with support by their form tutor to ensure this does not become unmanageable. The PSHE curriculum will continue to support this stage of the learning journey at the Academy.
